Regular Season Round 16: Voluntari - Weissenfels 87-83

The biggest surprise took place in Voluntari where host RomanianVoluntari (7-1) beat league's leader German MBC (7-1) 87-83 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of MBC. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Voluntari forced 19 Weissenfels turnovers. Strangely Weissenfels outrebounded Voluntari 32-19 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Lee Skinner (198-1992, college: Wofford) fired 21 points for the winners. The other American import guard Kodi Justice (199-1995, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 14 points. Four Voluntari players scored in double figures. American-German Spencer Reaves (191-1995, college: Central Mo.) produced 18 points and Croatian-Bosnian forward Jure Planinic (206-2000) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Voluntari have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Iraklis and Weissenfels.
